From The Guardian: Julian Assange’s extradition battle enters final round

It’s important to note that the British Court isn’t ruling on the merits of charges at this point. The issue the Court is looking at is whether a prosecutor has the authority to require a person’s extradition (whether a prosecutor is a valid “judicial authority” under the European Arrest Warrant Act). The article states that the issue has been “comprehensively tested” in previous cases, and it’s unlikely that this Court will rule in favor of Assange. The Court will likely respect the more expansive role played by prosecutors in Civil Law systems.
