It’s nice to see an intelligent woman actually getting media coverage.

From The Guardian: Julian Assange’s extradition battle enters final round
It’s important to note that the British Court isn’t ruling on the merits of charges at this point. The issue the Court is looking at is whether a prosecutor has the authority to require a person’s extradition (whether a prosecutor is a valid “judicial authority” under the European Arrest Warrant Act). The article states that the issue has been “comprehensively tested” in previous cases, and it’s unlikely that this Court will rule in favor of Assange. The Court will likely respect the more expansive role played by prosecutors in Civil Law systems.

Tea Bagger Madness . . .
On Monday, while I was waiting for my MINI to be serviced, I met a manager with Dress for Success. We were discussing current events and politics, and she surprised me by saying that many of her employees are staunch Tea Party supporters. Her “employees” are actually welfare recipients who are required to work a certain number of hours in order to receive cash assistance. Some of the women are confused and seem to believe that they have a job, when they are actually on welfare, government assistance. They are adamant that the government should make severe cuts, including cutting welfare programs altogether.
Are these women stupid? I don’t that they are less intelligent than the average American. Intellectually lazy might be a better description. Many people who identify as members of the Tea Party Movement receive some sort of government assistance, so how is it that they are so adamantly against their own self interest?

A cajeta longing
For days, I have had a terrible craving for cajeta … I haven’t been able to get to the store to buy any, and that’s probably a good thing. A friend suggested that I make it myself because it’s so easy, and this looks easy. But it’s got to have goat’s milk; otherwise, it just doesn’t taste like cajeta—it’s just dulce de leche. Goat’s milk gives cajeta that little bite. Check it out.
